The server roleplay

HEY its me Nathanth2397 and I'm here to tell you about the servers role-play me and Blazex8 are setting up.
it takes place at mine and Blaze's towns a group of assassins has killed Blaze's ambassador and now we're on the hunt it track down these killers and kill them before they do any more damage.

these RP events will be held on Saturdays and Sundays you can still role-play any-time you want just these main RP events are on these days.

we need to wait till we have 4-8 people in mine and Blaze's towns and 3-5 assassins before we can start so if your interested please talk to me or Blaze on the server or reply here.

one more thing this is going to take us time to set up and get all the people for the RP by witch time we should have new equipment witch means we could do the RP over Skype?

well that's about it if your going to join us I'll see you there

I wouldn't even attempt to set this up until we get upgraded and then procure a player-base... The thought is nice though. I just don't see it happening at the moment.

This isn't a roleplay server... I don't see it as a positive promotion attempt. If anyone joins; they'll leave when it's over.

These RPs take possibly 20-27 months to finish and when it's over we'll start a new one, then a new one, then a new one, etc. We can do it forever.

As for the fact that this isn't a roleplay server - it's fine we can still RP.

So, you're saying, these roleplays will take around two years? I honestly don't think that'll work. At all. This would just be too time consuming and, to be frank, irritating. And in rebuttal to your final statement; it completely matters. You're not going to see roleplays happening on a survival games server.

A single 20-27 month RP is absolutely absurd. People will get bored and leave.
Fair enough make your own little one and let people join in, but don't make it official - because this server isn't an RP server.
Of course let players do what they want - but an official server RP is rather silly in my opinion.

I don't even think a tiny RP should be done. Role plays always fail, because people leave and it gets old. They're also all boring. Extremely so, unless the game is good for it.

20-27 months?

You'd be lucky if nobody left the RP within the first week.

Aside from that, Minecraft RP's just don't work, the closest thing you can get to an RP on Minecraft is an adventure map.
